Instructional Classes


The Kenora Recreation Centre offers a variety of fitness classes each month led by an instructor.

Bosu Core

“There’s nothing like cardio on the BOSU to maximize your heart rate and build endurance. Come and try this extended cardio class that finishes with a solid, focused set of core training moves.”

Kelli Saunders – Tue 5:10 – 6:10 PM

Body Sculpt

Shape and strengthen while challenging your body’s power and endurance with 45 minutes of muscle sculpting.

A mix of traditional callisthenic, body weight exercises with cardio interval training and strength training.

Heidi Smith – Thu 12:05 – 12:50 PM


Train hard for short intervals of 20 seconds, focusing on power moves, core strength, and kickboxing; raise the intensity of your training to a new level!

Youth Conditioning

Exercise your body and fuel your mind, while getting fit and having FUN!  (Ages 9-13).

Cameron Chambers – Tue & Thu 4:00 – 5:00 PM

Tabata Power Flow

Tabata style strengthening using compound moves throughout your workout getting that heart rate up!  With a nice flow to get that heart rate back down!

Kim Mahon – Sat 9:00 – 10:00 AM

Strength ‘N Spinn

30 min of muscle strengthening to start! With 30 min of spin conditioning to follow. If you are only in the mood for one or the other that’s fine too! Join in for either half of the class!

A combination style class incorporating Qigong and Yang style Tai Chi. Reduces stress and improves overall health.

Tabata Spinn

A high intensity Tabata class that will strengthen your stamina. Timed interval combinations using spin bikes and fitness tools to get the job done!

Yoga Flow with Sharron Struk. Her calming voice will relax you while transitioning into each pose to get that stretch release you are looking for!

Zumba/Zumba GOLD

Combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the Zumba participants to dance away their worries. It is based on the principle that a workout should be “Fun and easy to do”.

Strength & Stretch

Improve your form, technique, and body awareness plus relax with a full body stretch lead by a very calming voice!

We are turning down the lights and focusing on getting our sweat on!! 45min of cardio and muscle conditioning! Great for all levels, you can adjust your effort to suit your needs.

50+ Fitness

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living; a total-body workout appropriate for any fitness level.
