Our primary Customer Service centre is located at:

Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Kenora Hydro services customers

  • From City Centre to West of Keewatin to the west end of Beach Road and Darlington Bay Bridge
  • From City Centre to North – top of Barsky’s hill
  • From City Centre to South – Coney Island
  • From City Centre to East –  Kenora Jail

All other areas such as the former Jaffray Melick, Redditt Road, Hwy 17 E, Hwy 17 W, other islands on Lake of the Woods, Black Sturgeon, Clearwater Bay, any area East of Valley Drive, Rabbit Lake Road, Storm Bay Road would be serviced by Hydro One. To apply for services with Kenora Hydro, you must visit our office located at 1 Main Street South. Here you will be asked the following information:

  • Driver’s Licence
  • Social Insurance Number (optional)
  • Previous service address
  • Contact telephone number
  • Previous payment history with another utility company

If you have had previous utility service with us and your payment history is good, you will not be required to secure a deposit for service. The following will determine if you will need a security deposit

  • If you have not had previous services with the City of Kenora that have shown good payment history for a minimum of 1 year;
  • If you do not have a good credit reference from another utility that has been within the last year;
  • If you have no credit history at all

Once our service criteria have been determined, a short service contract will be completed with you and our Customer Service Representative.

Please visit City Hall 3-5 business days prior to when you would like services established. In most cases, our Hydro Technicians can have your hydro on at your location the same day, but in the busy months, this can be up to 3 days. Please plan ahead and give us plenty of time to ensure we will have your services established when you need them.

Billing of your Services

  • Electronic reads downloaded from the ODS (Operational Data Store) will be billed on a monthly basis.
  • Where applicable, you will be billed for your sewer and water on the same bill.
  • Your first bill will have the approved account set up charges for establishing service. You may also be subject to a connection fee depending on the location you moved in to.
