Rates & Charges

Homeowners and certain designated consumers are part of the regulated price plan (RPP) set by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB). The threshold under the RPP varies by season to reflect changing consumption patterns.

The OEB is responsible for regulating electricity prices for low-volume consumers – those who use fewer than 250,000 kWh a year. The OEB adjusts these rates twice a year, to better reflect the true cost of electricity.

To see what the current rates are, please visit the Ontario Ministry of Energy Time-of-Use Prices Page or check out the Ontario Energy Board Decision and Order for Kenora Hydro Rates.

General Service Bulk Metered Multi-unit residential buildings may be eligible for the regulated price plan structure, and Debt Retirement Charge exemption.  The Ontario Government has indicated that it is up to the consumers to identify themselves.  Complete and submit the Declaration of Designated Customer and the Application and Declaration for Debt Retirement Charge Exemption forms to Kenora Hydro.

If the bulk metered multi-unit building is already under the regulated price plan, you will still need to complete and submit the Declaration of Debt Retirement Charge Exemption form and submit prior to December 31, 2015.
